I used a Siemens star (generated by a CAD program and printed on A4 glossy paper, so there's lots of very fine detail) as my test target, and set this up about 6m away. So after some half-hearted faffing about using the AF Microadjust I decided to do the job properly. Used as a macro lens, sharpness is more a question of stopping down for adequate depth of field, and a sturdy tripod to control shake. It arrived a week ago, and certainly looks and feels the part, and allows a sensible working distance, but did it give me sharp images at full aperture? Not exactly.and not as sharp as my Canon macros when used as a normal range lens.

Doing my bit to keep one supplier in business, I ordered the Sigma 150 f2.8 macro in Canon fitting* just before the expected price hike.
